Chapter 5 - The New Era of Villa Moretti

Two months later—December 2026.

Winter had arrived in Manhattan, covering Central Park in a thick, serene blanket of white snow.

Villa Moretti was illuminated with thousands of warm golden Christmas lights, its grand iron gates draped in evergreen wreaths and red ribbons. For the first time in thirty years, the solemn, intimidating estate was filled with the sound of music, laughter, and warmth.

In the grand ballroom, a holiday celebration was underway.

It was not a gathering of corrupt politicians or underworld figures. The room was filled with the estate’s staff, dock workers, local community leaders, and their families. Children ran across the polished hardwood floors while a jazz band played soft holiday tunes near the grand fireplace.

At the center of the room, standing beside a massive fifteen-foot Christmas tree, stood Alessandro Moretti.

Beside him stood Sophia Delgado, looking breathtaking in an elegant dark green velvet dress, her arm resting comfortably in his.

Sitting on Alessandro’s shoulders, wearing a small velvet dress with a white lace collar, was Emma. She held a glittering gold star in her hands, her face lit up with pure, unadulterated joy.

"Higher, Alessandro!" Emma giggled, reaching upward.

Alessandro lifted her higher with effortless strength until her tiny hands could reach the very top branch of the tree.

Emma placed the gold star on the highest branch, and the entire ballroom erupted into applause and cheers.

Marco stood near the entrance, holding a glass of sparkling cider, a wide, genuine grin across his face as he watched the man he had served for a decade. The cold, feared mob boss of New York was gone, replaced by a leader who had found his heart through the unyielding courage of a child.

Alessandro lowered Emma gently back to the floor, where she immediately ran off to join the other children playing near the dessert table.

Sophia stepped closer to Alessandro, her hand sliding into his broad, warm palm.

"She loves you, you know," Sophia whispered softly, looking up into his dark eyes.

Alessandro looked at the laughing child, then down at the beautiful woman standing by his side, feeling a profound, deep sense of peace settle over his chest—a peace he hadn't known since he was a boy.

"I love her too, Sophia," Alessandro replied gently, leaning down to kiss her forehead softly. "I love you both."

As the snow fell quietly outside the high glass windows of Villa Moretti, the grand estate was no longer a fortress built on fear. It was a home built on protection, dignity, and a love that had changed an entire city forever—all starting with a six-year-old girl, a plastic spray bottle, and the courage to protect her mother.
