Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Dawn

The silver moon emerged from the shadow of the earth, its brilliant, pure white light washing over the surface of the Aquamarine Sea as the eclipse came to a peaceful end.
Lyra and Aria swam up from the dark trench, crossing the threshold of the midnight zone and rising into the warm, sunlit waters of the Coral Kingdom. The elders and the young sirens were waiting for them, their faces filled with an anxious, breathless hope.
As Lyra swam through the great coral arches, she saw the devastation the silence had caused. The kelp forests were drooped and grey, and the outer reef was pale and brittle.
She swam to the highest peak of the nursery reef, where the morning sunbeams cut through the ripples like golden spears. She took a deep breath, her throat glowing with a beautiful, permanent blue light—a mark of the trials she had survived.
And then, she sang.
Her voice rose through the water, a magnificent, soaring melody of life, growth, and rebirth. As the notes drifted across the kingdom, a miracle followed in their wake. The pale, bleached coral began to flush with vibrant shades of pink, yellow, and purple. The giant kelp stood tall and green, dancing in the warm current, and the nocturnal jellyfish pulsed with a warm, celebratory gold.

The Coral Kingdom was saved, its heartbeat restored by the return of its finest singer.
Lyra finished her song, swimming down to wrap her arms around Aria. She looked out at the beautiful, thriving reef, knowing that she would never take her voice for granted again. She was still the guardian of the sea, but she was no longer just singing for the reef. She was singing for her sister, for her home, and for the beautiful, unbreakable magic of life that had triumphed over the silence of the dark.
