Chapter 6: The Unyielding Order

Julian glanced back down at his wife for a fraction of a second. He checked the positioning of her hands over her stomach, seeing that her sparkly white dress was unstained by blood, her breath finally leveling out into a steady, rhythmic pattern. His jaw softened with a brief, profound wave of relief. His wife and his unborn child were breathing. They were safe in his arms.

Then, his expression hardened instantly.

He snapped his gaze back upward toward the interior balcony. His eyes narrowed into thin, lethal slits, his brows drawing together in a look of cold, unyielding determination. The warm, relieved husband vanished, replaced by the dangerous, calculating billionaire who had built a corporate empire by crushing anyone who crossed him. He didn't overact. He didn't scream or wave his arms. The sheer menace of his gaze held Charlotte pinned to the spot from thirty feet away, stripping her of any remaining illusion of safety.

Julian spoke in a low, steady, firm voice that echoed clearly off the grand marble walls, carrying a weight that made the air in the lobby turn to ice:

"Call the police."

The two estate security guards who had just rushed into the foyer from the front gates froze, taking in the scene of their boss kneeling on the floor with his pregnant wife.

"Now!" Julian commanded, his tone dropping to a dangerous frequency that brooked absolutely no delay or question.

The guards immediately pulled out their radios, their voices barking codes into the secure line as they marched toward the stairs to secure the perimeter and block the exits. Charlotte stepped back from the railing, her face entirely blank with terror as she realized the golden cage she had built for herself had just become her prison cell. She turned to run, but the sound of heavy boots echoing up the spiral stairs told her she was already too late.
