“I should not have hit you.”
Sarah stared.
I continued:
“I was furious. Olivia was bleeding. That explains my reaction. It doesn’t make hitting you right.”
She said:
“So we’re even.”
“No.”
Her face tightened.
“Your act and mine are separate.”
I knew that because Tyler had forced me to explain it.
“I am accountable for mine. You are accountable for yours.”
