Dad resigned as administrative adviser.
Westbridge would have removed him anyway.
He did it before the hearing.
He told me:
“I was trying to keep both sides of the family okay.”
“No.”
He looked at me.
“You were trying to stop Kevin from failing.”
“Yes.”
“Different.”
He nodded.
Then:
“I thought you were stronger.”
That sentence.
I laughed softly.
“That was the problem.”
Dad cried.
“I thought Noah was secure.”
“He was.”
“I never meant him to feel less.”
“Intent doesn’t decide what he felt.”
He looked down.
“No.”
He contributed personally to the civil restoration because some questionable transfers had relied on his fiduciary recommendations.
He did not become poor.
