Chapter 41 - Reunited in the Capital|

The incredibly bumpy, agonizingly slow drive to the sprawling capital city took nearly four miserable, endless hours. By the time my dusty jeep finally arrived at the large central hospital, the evening sun had completely set, casting long, dark shadows across the busy, crowded courtyard. I rushed frantically through the large sliding glass doors, my desperate eyes rapidly scanning the chaotic, crowded waiting room for any familiar face.
I finally spotted Leo sitting quietly in a plastic chair near the main intensive care unit. He looked incredibly exhausted, his casual clothes heavily wrinkled and lightly stained with dust, but he immediately stood up when he saw me rushing toward him.
"Leo!" I gasped loudly, wrapping my arms tightly around his tall frame. "Are you perfectly okay? What exactly happened on the long flight?"
"I'm totally fine, Mom," he mumbled softly, hugging me back tightly. "It was really scary. The boy's heart monitor started aggressively beeping halfway there. Dr. Amina had to administer more emergency medicine, and the portable defibrillator's digital screen actually froze."
"What did you strictly do?" I asked, pulling back slightly to look directly into his tired eyes.
"I completely hard-reset the internal battery matrix, exactly like the technical manual said," he explained, a tiny hint of pride finally breaking through his sheer exhaustion. "It instantly rebooted perfectly in under ten seconds. Dr. Amina successfully used it to perfectly stabilize his fading heart rate just before we landed."
"Where is the young boy now?" I asked, feeling a massive, profound surge of overwhelming pride for my incredibly brave son.
"He's currently in emergency surgery," a gentle, exhausted voice said from right behind us. I turned quickly to see Dr. Amina slowly approaching, looking completely drained but offering a small, genuine smile. "The brilliant surgeons just officially confirmed that he is totally stable. He is going to completely survive."
I let out a massive, shuddering breath, completely leaning against the cool hospital wall.

"Your son is incredibly remarkable, Madam," Dr. Amina said warmly, looking directly at Leo. "He remained perfectly calm under immense pressure. He absolutely helped forcefully save that child's life today."
"I know he is," I smiled brightly, tears of pure joy freely falling down my tired face. "I absolutely know he is."
