Chapter 60 - A Visit from the Past|

The massively successful approval of Project Solstice entirely consumed Leo's incredibly busy schedule for the next several frantic weeks. On a quiet, incredibly rainy Tuesday afternoon, I was peacefully reading a heavy book in the cozy living room when a completely unexpected, highly familiar face suddenly appeared at my front door. It was Elena, our brilliant, highly aggressive former corporate lead attorney, whom I hadn't properly seen in almost three years.

"Elena!" I exclaimed warmly, quickly opening the heavy door and fiercely pulling her into a tight embrace. "What a completely, totally wonderful surprise. Please, aggressively come in out of the heavy rain."

"It is absolutely fantastic to see you, Boss," Elena smiled brightly, shaking the cold water off her expensive, highly tailored umbrella. "I severely apologize for the completely unannounced intrusion, but I urgently needed to fiercely discuss a highly sensitive, deeply complex matter with you in absolute person."

"You completely know you are absolutely always welcome here," I said warmly, leading her directly into the comfortable, softly lit kitchen. "What exactly is going aggressively on?"

"It heavily concerns Leo and the massive new solar grid initiative," she stated grimly, her sharp, highly professional demeanor instantly returning. "A highly aggressive, heavily funded multinational energy conglomerate based in Europe has secretly learned about the advanced, highly efficient solar panels your charity is independently developing."

I instantly felt a massive, deeply familiar spike of defensive adrenaline fiercely flood my entire system.

"They completely want to aggressively buy the exclusive patents," I guessed accurately, my voice instantly dropping into my old, coldly calculating CEO tone.

"Worse," Elena replied quietly, intensely looking around the quiet kitchen. "They are actively lobbying highly corrupt regional politicians in Africa to aggressively block the charity's vital construction permits unless Leo totally surrenders the complex, highly coveted solar technology to them."

"They are forcefully trying to completely extort a global charity," I said fiercely, an immense, absolute rage violently building in my chest. "They are completely, totally mistaken if they heavily think we will ever silently surrender to cheap, pathetic corporate blackmail."
