Chapter 49 - The Wedding Preparations|

The beautiful, golden weeks of late summer quickly faded into a stunning, crisp autumn, bringing with it a profound, joyous flurry of endless activity. Leo and Maya had officially decided to host their upcoming wedding directly on the sprawling, manicured lawns of our peaceful riverfront estate, completely rejecting the idea of a massive, heavily publicized corporate event in the bustling city. The quiet house was constantly filled with eager florists, busy caterers, and the deeply comforting sounds of warm, excited chatter.
I stood quietly in the massive, brightly lit kitchen, carefully examining a series of complex floral arrangements with Maya. She looked incredibly radiant, her dark hair pulled back into a messy bun, holding a thick, highly detailed binder filled with endless wedding logistics.
"I'm deeply worried that the white roses won't perfectly match the delicate ivory of the table linens," Maya said anxiously, lightly biting her lower lip as she heavily scrutinized the delicate petals. "Leo specifically mentioned he wanted the entire aesthetic to feel completely natural and deeply grounded."
"The roses are absolutely, undeniably stunning, Maya," I reassured her gently, placing a comforting, warm hand on her slender shoulder. "Leo is going to be completely captivated by you. He won't even briefly notice the exact shade of the tablecloths, I fiercely promise you."
"He's just been so incredibly busy with the massive global charity rollout," she sighed softly, a look of profound, loving admiration crossing her bright face. "I just want this specific day to be completely, perfectly peaceful for him. No heavy corporate crises, no sudden medical emergencies."
"And it absolutely will be," I stated firmly, my voice echoing with pure, unshakeable certainty. "I have officially called Marcus and strictly instructed him to completely firewall all corporate and charity communications for the entire wedding weekend. Unless the absolute world is literally ending, Leo's phone will remain completely, blissfully silent."
Maya smiled brightly, a massive wave of immense relief visibly washing over her tired features.

"Thank you so much," she whispered warmly. "You always heavily know exactly how to completely handle everything."
"I simply have a massive, lifelong degree in fiercely protecting my family," I laughed softly, pouring us both a warm cup of sweet herbal tea. "Now, let's aggressively conquer this complex seating chart before the caterers arrive for the final menu tasting."
