Chapter 47 - The Final Echo|

A gentle, cool river breeze brushed softly against my face, carrying the sweet, deeply earthy scent of blooming jasmine directly from the lush garden. As I sat completely in the beautiful, golden morning light, my calm mind briefly, quietly drifted back to the dark, horrifying memories of Dominic Sterling and the completely terrifying, heavy shadows of the old Oakridge estate.
For the very first time in my entire life, those incredibly dark memories held absolutely zero power over me. They didn't fiercely trigger panic or heavily inspire deep, profound dread; they were simply cold, dead ashes completely scattered by the powerful winds of time. The vicious, terrible monsters were permanently, unequivocally dead and completely buried.
My mobile phone chimed softly on the small wooden table next to my chair. It was a brief, highly pleasant text message from Marcus.
"The new advanced educational tech initiative in Southeast Asia just officially launched flawlessly, Boss. Leo's new brilliant team executed the complex rollout perfectly. Millions of kids just successfully logged on. Enjoy your highly peaceful Sunday."
I smiled softly, completely closing my eyes and letting the deep, profound perfection of the moment settle incredibly deeply into my very soul. The massive, beautiful empire of light I had forged from the broken, ruined ashes of my past was aggressively thriving, aggressively pushing back the dark shadows of the vast world exactly as I had always intended.
Leo proudly walked out onto the wooden deck, carefully handing me a fresh, perfectly cooked plate of warm pancakes, completely ignoring the slightly charred, crispy bacon.
"Here you go, Mom," he smiled warmly, gently sitting in the empty chair right next to me. "Maya fiercely apologizes for the slight smoke."

"It is absolutely, completely perfect, Leo," I said softly, looking intensely at his bright, happy face. "Everything is absolutely perfect."
He softly followed my calm gaze, looking quietly out over the beautiful, flowing river, thoroughly completely at peace with the world he was now powerfully helping to build.
